Youth Auditions

Thank you to all those who submitted your child for FROZEN.
The deadline for submissions has passed. We are still watching videos and then will move into the deciding phase of offering callbacks to those we need to see more from. You will hear from us by Monday, July 14 if we need to see more from your child. We will continue to watch videos over the weekend but didn't want to leave anyone hanging.
If you do not receive a callback, please know that all the children who submitted are doing an amazing job, including yours. To give a little insight - the next decisions we make for casting these two particular roles are based on many factors: the height of the child at the time of the audition and projected height at the time of the show (Dec/Jan) are the primary factors. Our adult Anna and Elsa are 5'1” and 5'3”, so we must be mindful of the illusion we are trying to create and upholding Disney’s standards.
We also must make sure our youth actors (4 cast) are interchangeable and are appropriate heights of their counterpart sisters that they may be performing with. There are also very fast-paced scene changes and magic - and we are looking for kids that we think can learn a complex show like this in just two weeks.
Slow Burn Theatre is a professional theatre company - No one precast – it is not "pay to play" - your child will be paid instead of you paying us. There are no politics at play here, we are simply committed to putting on the best show for our patrons who have come to trust in our brand of entertainment. If your child is not cast, please know we don’t think your child is untalented because that is not true. Casting is a very large puzzle and this is just one piece.
Once again thanks for taking the time to submit your video and more importantly - thank you for being a parent who supports a theater kid's dreams.
Sincerely,
